RI MRC
Founded in 2003, the RI Medical Reserve Corps began as in-state emergency response organization sponsored by the Rhode Island Disaster Medical Assistance Team. As a non-profit, RI MRC recruits and trains medical health professional and community volunteers to prepare for and respond to public health emergencies and disasters across the state. Focusing on reinforcing personal preparedness, strengthening public health and community resiliency through outreach and education, RI MRC enhances Rhode Island's capacity to do extraordinary things during extraordinary times.
Volunteer Training
RI MRC provides both classroom training sessions and field hospital training opportunities to its volunteers. The objective is to train volunteers to prepare for and respond to public health emergencies and disasters.
NOPE-RI
RIDMAT/MRC's Naloxone and Overdeose Prevention Education Program offers education on prevention, recognition and response including rescue breathing and the administration of naloxone, an opioid antidote.
OSTB-RI
Operation Stop the Bleed-RI offers a mobile training vehicle and team to provide invaluable training to individuals and community groups on how to respond and manage bleeding issues until professional help arrives.
